A well received 4 star self catering 19th Century barn conversion, situated in the picturesque grounds of a country estate on the edge of the hamlet of Welsh Frankton, 3 miles from Ellesmere, renowned for its seven Meres (lakes), Cremore Gardens, recently restored Boathouse and the Wharf on the Llangollen Canal.

The Byre has been renovated to a high standard and is one of few Shropshire self catering accommodation providers in Ellesmere. The Byre has a lovely double bedroom and a pretty, tree lined garden, ideal for relaxing and dining al fresco. It is also pet friendly and great for dogs who their need own space to chill out!

The property is ideally positioned between Oswestry and Ellesmere, two of Shropshire’s remaining traditional market towns, friendly and steeped in history. The area around our self catering accommodation is renowned for some great Shropshire outdoor pursuits, walking, fishing, boating, and sailing and for wonderful wildlife including beautiful swans, geese and herons.

Our guests also take advantage of so many opportunities to visit neighbouring historic centres, such as Chester and Shrewsbury with their ancient castles and lovely riverside walks. If you’re a National Trust enthusiast you are going to be spoilt for choice, properties including Powis and Chirk Castle with Erdigg and Attingham Park all close at hand.

You won’t find many negative comments about the Byre. Repeat visitors and recommendations speak volumes for what people tell us is a perfect Shropshire base for many holiday reasons…… reading, resting or even a romantic break!

One bedroom: 1 x king size zip and link (can be made into twin beds on request) with Wall mounted TV. Ground floor shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with fitted kitchen, sitting area and dining area.

Electric heaters throughout. Free standing electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, colour TV, DVD, radio/CD player etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 3 cars. Large, enclosed lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Well behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking.
